I’ll keep this pretty short as I think i’ve gone over pretty much everything in the last three posts and not much new has happened this week; i’ve still really enjoyed it, i’ve still got loads of energy and I’ve had loads of fun experimenting with meals.
So, what has changed? From tomorrow i’m sticking by my decision not to eat meat. I’m still undecided as to whether this will include fish; i’m going to try without but with a trip to Bali in two days and an abundance of seafood at my fingertips I will have to see. I will reintroduce a bit of dairy back but I will try my hardest to cut back on it all. From tomorrow i’d say i’m going to be 70% meat and dairy free, with the aim of being 99% (no one is perfect after all) as the year goes by. I’m not going to set a date as i’m hoping it will just occur naturally.
Being the super-organised (see also: anal) girl that I am I have a food shop ordered for the day I get back from Bali which includes Clarence court eggs and some camembert but apart from that the rest is plant-based. I’m going to stick with having Alpro instead of greek yoghurt, i’m going to use up the whey that I already have and then only buy vegan sourced protein… i’ll have cheese on special occasions and as a girl who used to have eggs pretty much every day i’m going to reduce that to around once a week. I’ve always made most of my own lunches anyway more for a cost saver than anything, and I will try and make these meals as vegan as possible. But, if i’m eating out and the halloumi side dish is calling to me, then i’ll have it. But who knows? Maybe it won’t.
So, that is where i’m at. I’ll probably do another blog post in a month or so to see where i’m at a month on. Until then though, expect lots of beach pictures and smoothie bowls…
